Fasolo, Mike: UNEMPLOYED: March 2006

So, as some of you may know, I lost my last digital camera. I don't know where or how I lost it, but I did. I went looking for it one day but it was nowhere to be found. And for a while it was a good excuse for me not posting on my blog and entertaining the masses. "I can't take pictures with my phone. They kinda suck. I need to take good digital pictures."

So I hemmed and hawed for a bit about not having the money for a camera. But then Andrew Racho, PA for Robot Chicken came up with a brilliant savings plan for me.

He figured that if I ate lunch in the office everyday, using food that Robot Chicken bought, I could save about $6 a day. Over the course of a few months, that would add up to the cost of a new digital camera.

Thus began my quest.

Everyday I would sit at my desk eating a turkey and cheese sammich while everyone else went out to some delicious fast food place like Wendy's, McDonalds, Arby's, Carl's Jr., Jack-in-the-Box or Subway. It was hard knowing they were eating such delicious bad for you treats while I sat and ate a boring old sandwich. I will admit that sometimes, I cried. Yes, I cried.

For what seemed like millennia, I did this. Then finally, one day, I checked my funds and lo and behold I would be able to afford a camera!!!!! So that's just what I did. I jumped online and found an excellent price for the Sony DSC-T9 digital camera I was looking for.

In the end those endless months of eating alone paid off. 7 days later my camera arrived.
Isn't it neat? It's the size of a credit card!! A bit thicker but still...IT'S AWESOME!

Now I can take pictures that are full of 6 megapixel goodness and show them to everyone! Yay!

I just hope I don't lose this one.

Well, it looks like the Robot Chicken offices are becoming super popular with anyone who's anyone out here in Hollywood. Today Mr. Geoff Johns stopped by.

Why did Geoff Johns stop by the office? Well, apparently, he heard about Mike Fasolo from Kelly Hu and Weird Al and just had to come and see me for himself! It was pretty cool. Geoff stayed for a few hours. He brought his computer in and sat with us in the writers room. He even tried (unsuccessfully) to transform Optimus Prime from Robot to Truck...sorry Geoff.

Then we all went out to lunch at Carl's Jr. After that, Geoff had to leave...so sad. But it was great to see him.

Oh, and I also found out that he and Tom Root are working on a SUPER SECRET PROJECT that can't be disclosed at the present time. But look for it sometime in the year 2008!! And that's all I can say about that! When I'm allowed to say more I will!

If you've been keeping up with my sporatic postings you already know that Kelly Hu stopped by the office to have lunch with me. And it seems the trend is continuing because today Weird Al stopped by.

and his many, many, many, many parody albums! A good man, that Weird Al is! He's given us so much to laugh at and sing along to!

Anyway, he stopped by to see me! Yeah, I know! Crazy, huh? Well, he didn't stay as long as Kelly Hu did, nor did we go out to eat for lunch. He literally just stopped by, saw me, then turned around and left. It was a little strange...but still very cool.

So, thanks for brightening my week a little more Weird Al!
